METSO AND FINLAND'S INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS

The METSO Programme is part of Finland's contribution to the United Nations' Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and the work in the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF). UNFF promotes political commitments towards sustainable forest management.

METSO also serves as the implementation of the  RESOLUTIONS of  Ministerial Conferences on The Protection of Forests in Europe (MCPFE), where all the European countries participate. The fourth Ministerial Conference was held in Vienna 2003, and the next one will be held in Warsaw after a few years.
